Blog Activating Peace Inside Out

My blog is a collection of my personal musings about life and the subjects I choose to give attention to.

September 12, 2018

Ripple’s, Reiki, and Circle principles have led me to listening and peace inside out. The world may appear to be in chaos and unraveling the new “normal”; and yet at the same time, it feels like the “Divine Feminine” has returned home to the hearts and actions of thousands of women around the world.

Right here in our small county, women are running for school boards, city councils, NID- the Water District, sheriff, and state and federal positions. They have the ability to lead, the courage to run, and a growing belief in support instead of competition between women

It is not politics as usual. People are beginning to listen from curiosity and understanding. Grassroot movements to build connections and community to solve problems together are on the rise. Is it my desire that I am projecting or are people taking more responsibility to create the world they desire -a world of peace that includes everyone?

Hierarchies are crumbling. Old paradigms are being challenged. The Me Too movement is calling for the end of personal violence against women.

Change is upon us. The universe is supporting change. How we embrace change is up to us.

At some point in time we met. It might have been through Reiki, Gather the Women, Braveheart Women Ripples, or a woman’s circle. The last 10 years have been such an adventure to explore and release cultural paradigms and beliefs that limited my trust and appreciation of myself. I am not talking about the personality, but of the highest self – the Source that we all have in common that expresses in each of us individually.

This awareness of who we are breaks down the boundaries of judgments and fears, of “other,” as we realize we all have the same origin, elements, and demise. We can explore what parts of our wholeness we reject and deny by what we judge in others. There is nothing in the macrocosm that does not exist within us – including greed, hate, anger, love, joy….

The puzzle of life includes all of it. And yet we have choices to react or respond as we become present to each moment. And this is where it really becomes interesting.

It is time to embrace the fear of the unknown as never before.
~Ellie Drake

Through Reiki, Ripples, or woman circles I have shared tools that support being present to whatever arises, including and especially fear. Self Reiki, oxytocin breathing, thymus thumps, Dance Your Buts Off, EFT tapping, meditation, Rapid Eye Technology are all balancing tools for your brain and nervous system.

California is on fire. Think about fire as a powerful symbol and what it is teaching us. We have our suitcases packed and ready for evacuation. How quickly life could change. How does that “ignite” our fear? How are we dealing with “fires” in our lives?

Through attention and intention, we notice what arises in the news, in our bodies, and in our lives. What numbers, words, people, sensations, beliefs, ideas, dreams, and desires keep showing up? Instead of going into fear or mentally dismissing what keeps showing up, we can stop, breathe, and feel into it.

Is my body trying to tell me something? What does It – the physical, emotional, all aspects of myself – need? What is trying to get through to my personality, my mind?

Fire – Heat – Anger.  What are we suppressing? What is building up?

I am using all my tools and investing in my own exploration of these body messages.

The universe is supporting us to emerge as the magnificent co-creative beings we were designed to be.

So many of us have limited our potential by the “reasoning” mind. I am reminded of the tale of a hand stuck inside the pickle jar. We only think of holding on to the pickle so we don’t lose it; our fear keeps us holding on to our old ways.

It is time to let go of the mind’s domination and restore the connection between our body and our higher self.

“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.” ― Arundhati Roy

Today be present, listen, feel, act.

Use the tools: breathe, tap, give yourself a Reiki treatment, be responsible for your thoughts and words – pay attention and set your intentions. Ground. Connect to the voice of your spirit. Ask: “What do I desire?  How shall I co-create with the Divine?” Listen.

Peace in every step,
Sushila

The present moment. What am I experiencing right now? Am I loving myself? Am I sharing love with the person in front of me? Am I being responsible for what I am thinking, saying, and doing? Am I enjoying this experience of life?

The more I pay attention, the more alive I feel. I AM expanding as my belief system upgrades. Where I AM, is all possiblities.

May 2015 bring you to the present moment.

2014 – It arrived, it was well lived, it ended in a wink. I spent less time promoting my services and more time on promoting the elections and other group endeavors. I provided, sat and danced in many women’s circles learning and embodying the sacred connection to a source greater than my personal self. I meditated with the 52 Codes of Conscious Evolution and my Universal Self. I found a peace I could be where ever I went.

I asked and I received. I asked the Universe for the experience of traveling the world as an international house sitter. How would I grow living outside my comfort zone? Who would I meet?

The Universe responded through my son who was living in Germany and heard from a former co-worker that her friend in his current city needed a house sitter. He asked me. I answered “Yes” without hesitating. I lived and traveled in Germany, France, Italy    and Switzerland for six weeks. I learned how to read the metro signs and schedules in three countries and travel alone, climbed the Swiss Alps, and visited the beautiful underground temples at the spiritual artistic community of Damanhur. I made new friends that I will treasure and the time we shared. I rode my first electric bike through the hills, vineyards, and Vauban eco-district of Freiburg, Germany.

I returned home to the premiere of a movie that my husband and I had enjoyed our first acting experience as extras.  Even though it was a voice over narration and we did not have any lines, It was no less exciting to see on the big screen. 2014 was definitely the big stretch.

2013 – What will the new year be for you? Do you want to deepen your understanding and dance with Reiki?
I am planning to have a monthly free Reiki Circle for practitioners. Will you be there? Check blinkandbreathe.com for future dates.

2012 – What was it like for you? Were you waiting for the end or anticipating the beginning?

For me, 2012 was a year of self reflection and learning. I let go of my Grass Valley office and worked from my home office. I stopped advertising and allowed time for people who chose to work with me. I sat in many Unity Women and Gather the Women Circles and shared from my heart. Together we co-created “The Gazelle.” The Gazelle is a symbol of focusing on the positive in life. Like Reiki.

As I pay attention to all that is working in my life, more good comes to me. I have met so many awesome new friends this year. I have traveled to beautiful places in New Mexico, Colorado, Washington, and California. I was gifted with wonderfully rich experiences: the Women’s Grassroots Congress, the Wisdom of the Origins Conference, Sister Giant, Stargate and Metapoints. New understandings keep showing up with peace, ease and grace. I sense that the universe is in very good hands and I listen carefully for instructions to do my part to bring positive changes to human thinking and actions. No longer is everything either black or white. Our minds are expanding to appreciate both sides are possible – this is true and this is also true.

Could any of this be related to my daily practice of Reiki? I experience how Reiki calms my mind, soothes my aches and pains, and lifts my spirit. Could a calm mind, a healthy body, and an elevated spirit be attracting all that I desire? There are no 3D measurements linking one to the other. So you can make your own connections.

Attending the first Women’s Grassroots Congress

Activist Gloria Feldt tells us to exercise our power muscles we have to do something. Take a step and then take another step.

When I first heard about the Women’s Grassroots Congress I thought about the Founding Fathers. Did they know exactly what they were doing at their first meeting? Did they expect the outcome their actions would produce?

I wasn’t there. No women were. But I could be at the first meeting of the Founding Mothers. I could take a step.

So I went to Seattle in March 2012 and met other women who also wanted change. The plan was for us as women to declare the values we want to underpin policy and action in our lives, our communities, and in our country. We would develop a community of collaboration to design the foundation of our social systems. We would model Circle Principles, the General Assembly Process and consensus. We would commit to take action to partner and connect with other women, groups, and projects.
This Congress in the round was experientially different than the procedures used in business and government meetings that I have experienced. We met in small circles where everyone had a voice and brought our responses to the entire group. The plan was to create a proposal of values for the group to accept with 90% consensus. Respectfully we voiced our concerns about slowing down the process for more clarity and understanding before we voted. The ideas were popping like popcorn and the room was full of renewed energy.

What is our purpose? What is attempting to happen here? We did not have to be rushed to vote without our inner knowing. If one person felt absolutely “NO,” we would not proceed in that direction.

We took time to clarify our mission and vision and create a Living Declaration. We did not complete the plan to create social systems based on the values. This was much bigger than 2 days. We did not have to push through an agenda despite objections. Every voice was respected.

I left the Congress with bigger muscles. I spoke my truth. I was listened to. I experienced a room full of women who worked together in harmony. I could imagine a new model of women finding common ground and supporting women to change the world.

Imagine what the world would be like if you or I could vote “No!” and government or science could not proceed without respecting our concerns and finding another way. One of our circles focused on what we would say “NO MORE!” to.
More about this in the next blog.

November Greetings from Sushila

Are we there yet? I hope you find this amusing. Are we already there or will we ever get to “there?” Some think 10-28-11 and 11-11-11 are signs for our transition from one consciousness to another. We get to choose. We always could.

Starting at 22 on my spiritual path, I have studied and practiced many spiritual and healing modalities. My husband Ralph and I were attuned to the Reiki Natural Healing System over 30 years ago. Some years we gave ourselves Reiki every day; some years we gave each other sessions every week; other times we used Reiki for emergencies and aches and pains. It worked for us in many ways.

In 2009, I began to deepen my Reiki path. I wanted to share the Reiki healing energy with others. By inviting others to classes and to come together as the Gold Country Reiki Association, we gave Reiki to each other and to the community. We each had our perceptions, our styles, and our own stories to share. I also read books and information on the Internet and explored different styles of Reiki.

The internet has provided a great opportunity to connect people who want to share Reiki. I went to a Reiki Circle in Roseville and met Cerise LaCore who introduced me to Hyakuten Inamoto and Komyo Reiki. Cerise arranged four wonderful days with Hyakuten, a non-sectarian, Japanese Buddhist monk from Kyoto, Japan.

On Friday night we were treated to a slideshow of places from the life of Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki. Having the Japanese translations of Usui’s words and concepts was very informative and helpful to understanding the legends of Reiki healing. It brought me to another level of my Reiki practice and understanding of “are we there yet?”

Komyo Reiki Kai follows the teachings of Usui Sensei and focuses on healing not only the body, but most importantly, the soul or spirit. Usui Sensei believed that with spiritual improvement, the body would naturally be better capable of healing itself. Hyakuten shares this belief. (Read more on Komyo Reiki Kai) http://komyoreikikai.org/node/11

Hyakuten taught classes to and attuned 13 Third Level Reiki practitioners on Saturday and Sunday to the Shinpiden or Teacher Level of Komyo Reiki. Hyakuten’s visit concluded with an awesome Reiki Circle of over 50 people.

I am now authorized to teach Komyo Reiki. This is a natural fit for my understanding of wellness and spirituality. I invite you to begin or add to your experience of Reiki by attending an upcoming Reiki class or Circle.

There will be a Komyo Reiki Shinpiden (Teacher) class including Western & Japanese traditions on: November 9, 5:30 – 9:00 pm & November 10, 9 am – 9 pm at the beautiful and sacred grounds of Moon Bear Sanctuary. This class is for those who have completed and received certificates for Reiki Healing Level One and Two from any lineage. An interview is required.

Reiki is actually a very simple technique. So simple that Westerners have a difficult time understanding that something so simple can be so effective. Reiki is as easy as quieting your mind, getting yourself out of the way by finding the space between your thoughts, and allowing the Reiki energy to flow through you, not from you. By daily practice of self-Reiki, meditating on and living the Reiki precepts, as a Reiki student you are actually following a path to enlightenment. As you heal, you become a stronger, clearer, more pure channel for the Reiki energy. In addition, creativity and intuition increases while the ability to pass this gift of healing on to yourself and others becomes a beautiful outgrowth of your inner spiritual practice.
